Natural Skincare, Gifts, Schitt's Creek and More: Orange Rose Apothecary
After discovering the toxic ingredients in current skincare products, Andrea Pierce-Naymon set out to create natural, plant-based products to nourish your skin. To aid in her entrepreneurial endeavor she was supported by Bounce Innovation Hub in Akron. Based out of the old Goodyear tire plant, Bounce Innovation Hub assists small business owners in developing and growing their businesses. After working at Bounce for five and a half years, she needed more space and was able to open her own shop called Orange Rose Apothecary in Hudson.
Andrea traveled to New York City to meet with brand ambassadors to review her products and ultimately developed a partnership with Saks Fifth Avenue. This partnership with such a large and influential company helped skyrocket Andrea’s exposure to a national market. Despite Covid-19 and travel restrictions, she was able to work in her OY-L lab and distribute her products as her brand continued to grow.
As the number of orders got more significant, she quickly realized she would need a larger lab. After searching through Akron, she found the perfect location in downtown Hudson. The spot is tucked away next to Heartwood Coffee Roasters and Peace, Love and Little Donuts. The space has large open windows so customers can observe natural skincare being made. . This aligns with Andrea’s business model of transparency in crafting her natural products.
Her products range from facial wash, serums, and creams, to body moisturizing products. On one trip to New York, an editor from Allure wrote an article about her whipped face cream, and this product continues to be her best-selling product.
Besides just selling the OY-L products and housing the lab, customers can shop from a variety of other natural, sustainable and eco-friendly products in the store. You can find anything from candles , ceramics, vegan candy, and natural makeup, to name a few making Orange Rose Apothecary the perfect spot for affordable gifts for anyone on your list!
Andrea’s favorite part of owning the store is the in-person connection she is able to make with her customers. She loves chatting with customers and suggesting products to support their needs. Not only does she aim to provide customers with clean skincare, but she also seeks to provide everyday sustainable items to help reduce waste. She sells a variety of products like Swedish dishcloths, beeswax wraps, dryer balls, liquid-less laundry detergent, and 100% bamboo toilet paper. To try these incredible products, stop in the Hudson storefront or shop online at https://oy-l.com/.
