Cuyahoga County DCFS

  • DCFS mission is to assure that children at risk of abuse and neglect are protected and nurtured within a family and with the support of the community as they strive to end the over-representation of people of color in the child welfare system.

  • DCFS has over 2,500 youth in foster and kinship care currently.

  • Ways to Support this Holiday Season:

    • Adopt a Family Program: Please contact DCFSOutreach@jfs.ohio.gov if you are interested in helping a local family. The minimum suggested guideline is $50 per child and $50 for the family.

    • Hope for the Holidays Program: Donors will purchase a gift from the Wish List or a $25 gift card

    • Volunteer: Volunteers are needed Tuesday, November 29th – Friday, December 9th from 9:30am-3:30pm. Reach out to DCFSOutreach@jfs.ohio.gov if you'd like to sign up.


Chair-ity

  • Chair-ity, Inc. is a nonprofit providing furniture and household goods to recipients who graduate from foster care, typically at the age of 18 and begin living on their own.

  • Chair-ity’s goal is to ease this transition for each recipient and give them a better start, improving their chances of success and breaking the foster care cycle.

Fieldstone Farm

  • Fieldstone Farm's mission is to engage the therapeutic power of horses to discover and nurture the special abilities of individuals, families and communities.

  • Fieldstone farm serves nearly 1,000 people with special needs and challenges annually.

Shape Cleveland

  • Shape is a professional photography and videography firm and an educationally-based nonprofit. They are dedicated to collaborating with their clients to tell their stories.

  • Shape's support staff is comprised of the area's most motivated students and interns seeking an exceptional hands-on, real world internship experience.

Cleveland Kids' Book Bank

  • The mission of the Cleveland Kids’ Book Bank is to foster literacy and a love of reading by distributing free books to children in need through collaboration with community partners.

  • The Cleveland Kids’ Book Bank has distributed 4 million free books to 100,000+ kids in need in Greater Cleveland and continues to distribute 45,000 books per month.

Project NICU

  • Project NICU is dedicated to supporting families with children in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the medical professionals who care for them.

  • Ways to Support this Holiday Season:

    • Monetary Donations

    • Volunteer: Including stuffing NICU Care Packages, helping facilitate support groups, dropping treats to the medical teams or being a parent mentor.


Girls with Sole

  • Girls with Sole's mission is to use free fitness and wellness programs to empower the minds, bodies and souls of girls who are at risk or have experienced abuse of any kind.

  • Girls With Sole has utilized the proven power of fitness and sports combined with a unique curriculum of self-esteem-building activities and art projects to instill confidence, self-esteem, physical strength, teamwork, and a passion for success in the lives of nearly 1,000 girls and young women in Northeast Ohio.

  • Ways to Support this Holiday Season:

Cleveland Food Bank

  • The Cleveland Food Bank’s mission is to ensure that everyone in our communities has the nutritious food they need every day.

  • 343,000 people were served by the Food Bank and its more than 1,000 partner agencies in FY2021 across our 6-county service area.
