Algebra is absolutely one of a kind. Right in Little Italy, this tea house serves teas (obviously,) coffees, and an all day Mediterranean food menu. Right when you walk inside of Algebra, you quickly realize that you are in an entirely new dimension. Funky homemade cups, crazy seating arrangements, the cutest tiny fire place, ingredients lined on shelves all throughout, beautiful art, and the coziest vibes. You’ll notice that is is a hot spot for college students working on projects due to being close to Case Western and it’s late hours! Perfect for the night owls!
Phoenix Coffee Co. - 1793 Coventry Rd, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118 (however they do have more locations around CLE)
*TCBL Pick. As the only worker-owned cooperative coffee company in Cleveland, or in Ohio, we love to support Phoenix. The Coventry location is bright and airy and has plenty of tables for working or just hanging out.
Lekko - 2529 Detroit Ave, Cleveland, OH 44113
Lekko is a newer shop to the Cleveland Coffee scene, located in the Hingetown area of Ohio City. It’s bright, clean, quiet, and calm… plus they close at 7 PM! This is one of the shops that stay open later in Cleveland- leaving you with so much time to get lost in a conversation with a friend, a book, or your work. 10/10 would recommend the orange and brown latte- perfect cozy cup for a lovely day.
Koffie Cafe - 2517 Market Ave, Cleveland, OH 44113
Right in the heart of Ohio City, Koffie Cafe is probably the coziest space in all of Cleveland. It’s a wooden, warm toned, European cafe interior, overlooking a gorgeous brick road and tree lined Market Avenue; I feel like I’m in my very own coming of age movie when I sit in here. They have an abundance of flavors for coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries. It always feels quiet in the best way possible each time I visit. It is a marvelous place with the perfect ambiance to read a book or get some work done!
Ready Set Coffee Roasters - 7306 Detroit Ave Suite 101, Cleveland, OH 44102
*TCBL Pick. Located in Gordon Square, Ready Set has been around the Cleveland scene popping up for a few years, but they just recently opened their brick and mortar storefront. This spot has plenty of room to spread out, and its proximity to downtown and the west side makes it a great spot for a work meeting or to catch up with a friend.
Downtown Rising Star - 412 Superior Ave, Cleveland, OH 44114
This local chain offers so many cozy spaces all throughout Cleveland, but due to currently being carryout only- the downtown location inside of the old Arcade is the winner! After popping by for one of their seasonal lattes; go swing over to the beautiful Arcade to wander around indoors, hang out, and appreciate the beauty that Cleveland has to offer!

This is one of Lakewood’s newest coffee shops; and its officially a staple for me! Theres something about the artful decor, the wooden seating, the black and white checkered floors, and it’s faux fireplace that just make this place feel so warm and at home! Come for the amazing drinks and all Vegan/GF menu, and stay for the amazing atmosphere. Truly have only had outstanding experiences at Propaganda.
The Root Cafe - 15118 Detroit Ave, Lakewood, OH 44107
When it’s open indoor for seating; the root is so cozy! Surrounded by cool baristas, thriving plants, live music, and art for sale sprawling on the walls- the root is an absolute gem. Right now, I believe their indoor dining is closed but pop in for a cup of coffee and a vegetarian meal to-go; their food and drinks are perfect to heal the soul and warm your heart on a cold winter day!
Caffeine - 14701 Detroit Ave #1, Lakewood, OH 44107
Also located in Lakewood, Caffeine has a variety of fun drinks, toasts, sandwiches, crepes, sweets, and all sorts of other fun goodies! The interior is modern with comfy couches, a variety of seating, and most importantly a fireplace! A great spot to warm up and work all day long.

And one step further than the suburbs- Akron needs a feature too! There is something SO COZY about a coffee shop that hasn’t really updated its interior since the mid 90’s when it first opened. Angel Falls has so many couches, seats everywhere, containers of tea for sale lining the walls, and pastry shelves galore! I always am so inspired every time I sit here- from the people to the art on the walls, it sure is an Akron gem!
