Ephemeralfest is a yearly festival celebrating a group of wild plants in Northeast Ohio called Spring Ephemerals. These are plants that emerge above ground for only a month or two in the springtime before disappearing again for the rest of the year. Some favorite wild edibles such as ramps and wild mustard fall into the category of spring ephemerals. My event will include speakers, vendors, wild plant ID walks, a community dinner where people can taste spring ephemerals, and camping. This will be an event where people will leave feeling like they gained a lot of knowledge about wild plants in Northeast Ohio and feel inspired to share that knowledge with those around them. It will be great for people who have wanted to learn more about foraging and identifying wild plants but aren't sure where to start.
