From the organizer:
Cleveland-based artist Jordan Wong continues his exploration of identity, growth, and the Ultimate Self through the lens of Chinese and American culture in his exhibition I LOVE THE NUMBER 8, BUT 10 IS GOOD TOO. Wong presents ten works, many of which mark the artist’s first foray into sculpture while continuing to translate his drawings and visuals into other media and experiences, including lenticular prints, animation, laser-cut steel, and more. Additionally, this exhibition provides a preview of Wong’s creative vision for five new public artworks—made possible through the City of Cleveland’s Transformative Arts Fund in partnership with The Sculpture Center and in collaboration with MidTown Cleveland and OCA (Asian Pacific American Advocates, Greater Cleveland Chapter) that will be installed in Cleveland’s AsiaTown, currently a DIY community space with plans to become a future permanent park for the neighborhood’s residents and visitors.
