From the Organizer:
Spend your lunch hour with internationally recognized Chicago-based artist Edra Soto as she shares insights into her recent public works in major U.S. cities, including her first major Midwest commission outside of Chicago — La Distancia / The Distance, a permanent installation – unveiled September 18 in front of the MetroHealth Glick Center in Cleveland’s Clark-Fulton neighborhood.
This artist talk is held in partnership with The Cleveland Institute of Art.
About Edra Soto:
Edra Soto is a Puerto Rican-born artist, curator, and educator who explores themes of identity, displacement, and the process of finding and creating home. Through visual art, community projects, and architectural intervention, Soto encourages a deeper understanding of our cross-cultural dynamics and how we collectively shape the spaces we inhabit.
Information about public parking:
Attendees may park free in any of CIA's Lot 73 and Annex Lot, both of which surround the campus. Please note that signs posted around those lots correctly state that parking typically requires a CIA permit or visitor pass and that violators will be ticketed. However, to accommodate our valued Lunch on Fridays attendees, that policy won't be enforced during the program. If you have questions about parking, please contact Reinberger Gallery at reinbergergallery@cia.edu or 216.421.7407.
