Micro Theater CLE: Tremont Reloaded

From the Organizer:

Micro Theater CLE Is Back, More Micro Than Ever
The free pop-up festival of short performances in small spaces returns to Tremont September 11th and 12th, 2026 with 180 performances, and more than 30 original productions in backyards, bars, and bridges for no reason whatsoever.

CLEVELAND - 180 performances. 30 original productions. Two nights. Free!

Micro Theater CLE returns to Tremont on September 11 and 12, filling bars, backyards, back alleys, bridges and someone’s living room with theater, dance, comedy, music, storytelling, and performance art.

Butoh on the 490 bridge! Stand-up comedy standing up on a front porch! Tango in backyards! New plays in dark alleys! So much original work that it’s impossible to see everything in a single night.

Micro Theater began in Madrid before spreading to Miami and Buenos Aires. Cleveland looked at the idea and, naturally, decided to put a festival on a highway overpass.

Every production lasts fifteen minutes or less and repeats throughout the evening, creating 180 performances over two nights. Audience members reserve a personalized route through the festival, leaving plenty of time between performances to grab a drink, chit chat about what you’ve just seen, and decide where to head next.

Since launching in 2024, Micro Theater CLE has presented more than 200 performances, featured 100+ local artists, and welcomed more than 900 audience members. This September’s festival is the largest yet, bringing together playwrights, dancers, comedians, musicians, improvisers, storytellers, magicians, performance artists, and creators.

About Micro Theater CLE

Micro Theater CLE is a grassroots pop-up festival dedicated to short, original performances in small spaces. Inspired by the international micro theater movement, the festival transforms bars, homes, businesses, parks, porches, and overlooked corners of Cleveland into temporary stages where audiences experience an evening of new work one fifteen-minute performance at a time.

Micro Theater CLE is produced by Mindy Childress Herman, Samantha Cocco, and Jonathon Morgan.
