From the Organizer:
Celebrate the 12th Annual Whiskey Island Paddlefest! Grab your stand up paddleboard or kayak and register for one of the races or for the Capture the Swag Fun Paddle. The course is perfect for both beginners and advanced paddlers. Enjoy free stand up paddleboarding and kayaking try-its, visit vendors, and celebrate all things paddlesports as you experience the Lake Erie Water Trail!
This race is intended for all skill levels, and while this event is competitive in nature, the focus is on a fun race experience.
All racers (excluding the Kids Race) will receive an event logoed t-shirt (while supplies last). Register early to guarantee you receive one, as priority will be given to those who register first.
The top 3 finishers in each category as noted below will receive a medal. For the Kids Race, everyone will receive a participation prize; no medals.
7:30 – 8:15 a.m. Racer Registration
8:15 a.m. Race Announcements: 1, 2, and 6 mile races (All Racers)
8:30 a.m. Inner harbor/course route closed to all outside boat traffic
8:40 a.m. Start: 6-Mile Race - Kayak
8:43 a.m. Start: 6-Mile Race - SUP
8:46 a.m. Start: 2-Mile Race - Kayak
8:49 a.m. Start: 2-Mile Race - SUP
8:54 a.m. Start: 1-Mile Race – Kayak & SUP
9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Fun Paddle & Kids Race Registration
10:30 a.m. Fun Paddle & Kids Race Announcements
10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Lunch Served & Beer Garden
10:45 a.m. Start: Kids Race – Kayak & SUP
10:45 – 11:05 a.m. Inner harbor/course route temporary opening for non-event traffic (time subject to
change due to race delays caused by weather or other elements out of our control)
11:15 a.m. Start: Capture the Swag Fun Paddle
11:30 a.m. Racer Award Ceremony; racers start Fun Paddle after awards if desired.
12 – 1 p.m. Free "Try-It" sessions with Cleveland Metroparks Instructors:
Kayaking & Stand Up Paddleboarding
Vendor on-water activities
(weather permitting and first-come, first-served)
12:30 p.m. Capture the Swag Fun Paddle Ends
12:30 p.m. Inner harbor/course route open to all outside boat traffic
12:30 p.m. Door Prizes
1 p.m. Event Ends; See you next year!
